Hi there, not new to scooters as I've owner a couple of Lambrettas for several years and had a T5 up until 3 years ago. Just bought a PX200 fitted with a 125 engine for my son. Despite the T5 experience, I eally don't know very much about Vespas so will be pestering with daft questions......Thanks in advance

hi n welcome ,come on were all friends here an play nice,or teacher tells us off, so fess-up, you wont be the first lambretta owner who keeps a p200 for emergencys/daily hacks, ive met quite a few aswell as being 1 myself ,an it isnt the first time ive heard the "son" excuse either . tho in my defence the last time for me was because i owned a ld an wanted to get places before reaching retirement age or the slownest of it killed me by boredom. the px generally will be same as the t5 ,so anything ya can remember prob will be useful ,an the only daft question is the one ya didnt ask but should ov. henri

Cheers m8, the T5 was my first Vespa and it earned my respect over approx. 5k miles of commuting in and around London. I only sold it as I wanted a GTS 250i so that I could increase my area of operation workwise. That was nearly 4 years ago and I've done over 20k miles on it since.
The lad asked how much a geared scooter would cost recently and was disappointed to learn that it would be well out of his budget. He turns 30 in 2 weeks time so I started looking and spotted the PX200 for £600. It has a 125 engine with it but doesn't run and has some damage where it has been dropped on its side but nothing major. It won't be ready for his birthday but then he will need to get his CBT sorted anyway......should be a nice surprise for him

Coaster, you seem like a top bloke. Wish my old man had bought me my 1st.
