Hi,
I have wanted an old Vespa since I was a kid. We used to go over to the Isle of Wight to visit my Nan and Grandad and sometimes we would be there when the scooter rally was on so they obviously had some sort of influence.
I have been looking on eBay etc but so far haven't seen anything worth going for. I have seen a few Vespa's that are being imported from India and Vietnam. I am guessing these are best left alone?
I will keep popping back on here too to check out the classifieds.
Cheers
Sammo

Check out the classifieds in Scootering mag Sammo , and take a wander down to your local scooter club for a chat , someone, is bound to know someone , who knows someone, who knows someone ,who is selling a scooter ........But stay away from the far east ebay option .....don't be tempted by the nice pics & b******t , or it will end in tears.

hi n welcome ,as micky says check the classifieds ,an pre-loved an gumtree throw up a few scoots, mostly px's or projects ,an local scooterists will know of scoots with history for sale . e bay can be chancy ,veitnamese are def to be avoided unless there through the saigion scooter centre ,indian 1's bought as projects can be ok-ish ,but better to be bought from a english importer ,the ones that are sold as restored already are mostly a goodish paintjob over a load of second rate parts . an check ya local scooter shop aswell as most have a for sale board or will know of scoots on offer .where in the world are ya . henri

I started looking about 6 months before I found mine, asked a few old school mates who were still on the scene, local organisations and you'll soon hear about a gem up for sale...... I picked up mine for £1k, a real steal but there's a few more been offered since so plenty about..... Good luck in your quest :0)

Sammo - dont forget you can still buy a new Vespa PX. Apart from the Euro emissions, the new Vespa PX's are similar in looks, body, engine to the ones you saw knocking about all those years ago. They might not go as quick if kept standard as they are, but at least you will have a 2 year warranty to start with.
