I'm guessing to maintain good DC lighting and horn etc at any engine revs (as a non battery Lammie horn at tickover is awful and kills the rear light)!!!!

for a horn that doesnt sound like a duck crapping through a sewn up bumhole, an dims the rear lights like kru's bretta's an earlier 6v vesp's , i believe the lights are all ac like p series ,but not 100% sure, you can drop the weight of it ,but ya need a ac horn an a small change to wiring, my horn on super sounds chronic ,but mot guy gets a laugh out of it every year ,an a smiling mot guy=a pass , result , H

All the lights run off the AC system, the horn off the battery.
Huge overkill, you can wire the horn wire into the AC out, and lose the battery, but the lights will dim when you use the horn.
I can't remember the last time I used mine away from the MOT

There should be an adjuster on the back of the horn, give that a turn or so.

the horns on missus car are "lucas windtone" an theve got adjusters on the back ,hours of fun ,an ya can get em to sound like the kind of wind ya not suppose to have in church , an like swbnic have only ever used horn at mot time , on the road i'm too busy taking evasive action, swearing an horn finger is usually already engaged in a rude signal so cant find the button, an rab you should of seen the mot-mans face when motting my mates lamb-chop, he'd gone cheap an nipped into the 99p store on the way an got a black rubber bulb honk-horn, with pirate skull n crossbones on it, mot guy thought the noise was so funny he asked to hear it again, that or he didnt believe the cheek of it, an died laughin when the bulb came of in my mates hand 2nd go with a squeak like a trod on mouse,Henri
