I have a 2013 px125 and have ordered a sip road 2 exhaust. I am getting conflicting advise on upjetting . Midland scooter centre claim I don't have to, noticed on here a larger main jet is required. In the feature in the scootering mag Sticky upjetted the main and pilot jet. I am running a 96 main jet & 45/140 pilot jet at the moment. I was thinking of around 100 main as a starting point but what about the pilot jet? Or should I just richen it up a bit on the mixture screw and leave the pilot jet as is. Don't want to go and seize it!!!

Ignore MSC,yours is a catalysed model and will need upjetting. Did the article say what Sticky used? I'd go from that if it did.
I remember when they MSC to be a good shop.

As a basic rule 5 to 10% bigger main jet would be good starting point. From 96 to 100 is in between that limits. I'd say you are on the right way.

Sticky used a 100 main and increased the pilot to 48(quote). Fitted is a 45/140. The Haynes manual quotes 45/100. What would be the next pilot jet up. These double numbers are confusing.

I think 100 is on non-cat engines, yours should be a 98 or less.
Just buy whatever Sticky used, it's easiest that way!

Thanks for replies. Think I'll get a selection and do some plug chops. Who in the UK have a good stock of jets please?

You can buy a boxed set at good prices from many shops, it's the easiest way... Shop around.
Don't buy off ebay, I made that mistake and ended up with some fake ones that were all over the place.

I know this is an old thread, but I have an MY 2003 PX125. Standard jet 96, so first small upgrade was the derestricted air filter (heart cut out over jet), so went up to 98. Perfect and great improvement on higher revs through gears. The SIP road 2.0 was then put on and jet changed to 101; generally ok but engine started to fade at indicated 105 KMH, through over heating (same as it did when I had a sito plus), so a slight change to 102 and its spot on. Its not a life changing performance if you have always had a non-cat engine; but significantly more power and more urgency in the engine. Scoot always hits indicated 100kmh, even into wind. On a catalized engine upgrade, friend said power difference was incredible. Think he had to change the restricted CDI too. I did not change pilot jet but I have altered mixer screw slightly as tick over was a bit off.

Shop guy was very helpful & confirmed my Haynes Manual saying we have 96 main jets in ours. He suggested a 98 & 100. I'll fit the 100 main jet, drill air filter & clean plug then go for a good ride and do the Plug chop at services on a good dual carriageway to do the biscuit test.. I'll leave pilot jet for now unless I get any idle to low power issues pulling away etc. Looking forward to comparing with my stock set up & your results too.

Cor blimey what a massive improvement!
I just fitted my Sip 2.0 & upped main Jet from 96 to 100 & drilled 7+5mm holes in the air filter.
I went for a short ride to make sure all is as it should be and what a massive improvement on the strangled low end from pulling away all through the gears. No surging either.
The sound is great too, a bit deeper and not any noticeable difference in volume which is good. Mind you I'm severe/profoundly deaf but what I heard sounded real nice.
I plan to go for a proper run tomorrow & do a plug chop to see what colour biscuit I make.
