Hi I have got a t5 engine the problem is the clutch. When it is pulled in and you put it in gear and you rock the bike back and forth you are moving the piston. As if you were bumping it in. Sorry the engine was not running. When the clutch is pulled in the kick start just goes down and wont move the piston in neutral If it is in gear the scooter moves forward Not had the scooter moving yet as the engine was out when purchased. Had the clutch out and soaked plates for 2 days Cheers chris

is the cable that's on actually doing anything when you pull the lever in. it could be over stretched or not adjusted properly check those basics before you do anything else

id be looking at actually replacing the clutch next you have taken up the slack so it has to be the plates or you haven't put it back together properly either way its not engaging . i would personally replace it as you don't know how far it was worn before hand and by the sounds of it its had its day

Check the following:
The cog behind the clutch is the right way round. The brass washer inside the clutch is new The brass bush is good The plunger and pressure plate are as new.

hi this is my clutch i have just taken out striped and put back together when you compress the clutch when its out of the scooter you can turn the cog on top by hand but there is some resistance with the plates still rubbing but not much. there is a washer spacer behind the clutch same shape on both sides is in the pic Thickness of it is 3.35mm the auto lube cogs are removed so is the washer to compensate for the missing cog. and if so could it be to thin stopping the clutch compressing enough causing this problem. also i have taken a pic of the engine so you can see if there is anything wrong with that not sure which cog you mean so could you tell me which one to check when you have stopped laughing i am new to this so i may be a bit slow

LOL, there is a slight chamfer - it goes in towards the engine. get enough done to ride it safely and do the rest as you go and he means the cog that's sat right there on the clutch in your picture if you were close enough id come and get my hands dirty with you to get it closer to on the road

Thanks for the reply. Do you think it may a problem with the spacer washer as my auto lube gear has been removed And the clutch is sitting to far back into the engine case so the clutch push rod cannot compress the clutch enough

NO! You need the spacer washer in there to replace the drive gear, otherwise the clutch will sit too far back. If you have the drive gear, it may be worth measuring the thickness of both, just to make sure though.

It is difficult to see in your picture as not square onto the side, but my new-to-me PX was dragging its clutch after about 5Kms when it warmed up. Couldn't externally adjust out the problem. The problem being with clutch pulled in the scooter just carried on regardless. No disconnect at all. Pulled it apart and saw this:-Then I figured the clutch plates had nowhere to go when hot and expanded a bit. So, I modified the slot depths Problem solved and has never returned!!! So, maybe your issue perhaps???

Grinding the turrets tonight see if that helps. Just need to know how thick the autolube gear is to see if I am getting the clutch compressed enough with the 3.35mm washer behind at the moment.
