Ive bought a salvage (Damaged) 1966 Vespa just waiting for it to arrive. I think it’s a 150 Sprint, but hopfully you lot will be able to tell me. It’s going to be my winter project to keep me out of trouble, so ill probably have a lot of questions later. The plan is once it arrives to strip it down, send all the metal off to be dipped, and do a full rebuild. Some schizophrenic has painted the bike red and blue don’t ask me why? ? My plan is to find out the original colour, I take it it can be done via the chassis number? If so can anyone tell me how to do it? If the original colour is not quite to my liking then Im thinking of a duck egg blue or I do like grigio garda 711 as a colour for it. Anyone got any links to where I can buy parts for it, from trim parts to cables, clutch leaver, handle bar grips, tool box lid, full lock set that are period to a 66 bike Thanks in advance for any input Steve

hi and welcome parts depends on were you are unless you want to order them for delivery beedspeed in grimsby are extremely good especially if you want parts to be as they should have been originally you show them a picture of your vespa they will tell you what it is and what it should have were then you have LAMBRETTA LEEDS as it suggests its in leeds but not as it suggests they do vespa parts aswell did you get a log book with it ? that would tell you what it is and make it a lot easier to trace the colour you may find the original colour somewhere under the paint that's on it or under the vin plate unless its already had a proper strip and paint

Toolbox is wrong, shouldn't be on there, engine looks to have a more recent kickstart, suggesting later engine, mat on centre spine is wrong... Apart from that, do you have a side on photo, you may be taking on a bigger job than you realise (Sorry, Mr Pessimist speaking!)
