hi all, my px 125 2011 disc model, has started to chatter(?) when i pull on the front brake. looked at the pads-fine, there doesnt seem to be any play in the steering column (its only done 4000 miles) would bleeding the brakes help?? any ideas ??

when you say clattering/chattering is it noise or vibration ? it could be your disc is warped a brake disc with 4 thousands of an inch deflection will vibrate like a muthaf**ka when braking as for bleeding your brakes , if the fluid level dropped or if your bike been on its side it may need bleeding but it wouldn't normally cause clattering/chattering air in a hydraulic system would cause a spongy feeling on the lever if your pads are ok my bet is play in the steering coulomb bearings my 2pc

Check that the two allen headed bolts that hold the caliper on are tight and maybe put a smear of copper based grease on the back of the pads.

I'd second the forks. Lift the front of the frame over a pair of axle stands and a plank, grab the wheel and rock it backwards and forwards. Any movement and they need tightening up.
