Check your main jet, running with a stock standard exhaust it should be a 96 main.
When I ran my 125 with a simmonni I ran with a 102 main jet no problem.

If your going to change your jetting which I would strongly advise , maybe try a 100 then work your way up.
If you buy a simonini from ebay they come with a 102, I also ran with a 102 and had no problems. Have a play and good luck

Leave the idle jet, one thing at a time.
Sort the main jet out and you shouldn't have to touch the idle. Make sure once you've changed main jet you take for a spin and check the spark plug colour.
What does the plug look like now??? I would imagine it looks a little lean (whitish in colour)

It's a Simo. It's going to bog slightly anyway.
But you need to upjet

:-Sbut it struggles to start. you have to get going then keep the throttle wide open until the revs picks up, but still bogs when trying to set off until you get the revs up.

Sounds right. It's why everyone - including Scootering - recommend the SIP Road, the power is lower down

sound's like a flat spot when opening the throttle, I usually find it's either the air mixture not set correctly or the slow running jet blocked at the tip

1 and a half turns works for me with a 98 jet,be careful not to over screw the jets in...otherwise it will never run right again,,the current spaco carbs are garbage,
