Hello,
I've been wanting to buy a Vespa for some years but kids/mortgages have stopped me so far. I'm finally in a position where I can buy one but it must be as cheap as possible...ideally, I'm looking for a nice looking/good running scooter for under £1000...
I realise that this may sound ambitious but I am willing to put in the graft, do the research, find the parts etc. and restore one.
I am a complete newbie and know nothing about engines, clutches etc.but am definitely willing (and keen) to learn.
At the moment, I think I'll be better off starting with a T5 but I would appreciate any advice that the gurus can offer...am I being completely unrealistic?!?
any help and advice that you guys can give will be very much appreciated.
Cheers Vin

Hello Vin.....may be worth having a look in the scootertrader section in scootering magazine , that will give you some idea of prices etc. A T5 Classic or PX125 would be a good place to start , both good scooters and easyish to maintain and upgrade....This time of year scoots are going for good money , so you may have to search a bit for the price bracket you are looking for , but there are some out there .
