Hello there Can any one offer a bit of advice please, I have a new PX 200e which has now covered around 700 kilometers ( why cant all countries use miles it would be so much easier), in the manual that came with the bike it said not run the engine at full throttle for the first 1000 Kilometers. I have been keeping my top speed at about 90 KPH ( about 55mph) which does not appear to be at full throttle as the bike still wants to go more and the throttle isn't fully open, neither have i revved the bike to the max in the gears. My concern is i have just seen a bit of info somewhere on line that advised on the top speed in each gear whilst running in.It advised not to go over 70 KPH in 4th. I have also been using fully synthetic oil. Could the fact i have been going up to 90KPH have caused any possible damage, the bike runs fine and i have not been holding at 90 KPH for more that 3 or 4 minutes at a time. Thanks in advance

The recommendation for running in is usually to keep it down to no more than three quarters (about 78kph) of its top speed which is in the middle of the two figures you've quoted, and to use semi-synth.
If it's running okay I shouldn't think you've done anything catastrophic Rods, but I would recommend booking it in for its first service with an official Piaggio dealer now (normally you'd look at booking it in once you reach 800km to make sure it gets serviced weill before 1000km)

it should be fine aslong as you dont keep the throttle fully open for long durations if it is advised not to exceed 70kph in 4th where possible try to cruise at under 70kph, my px is also in kilometers which is quite annoying

Thanks for the info, Whats kind of annoying is that no one advised me of a top speed when i bought it and there was no speed mentioned in the manual. Oh well... I will just take it a bit easier now.
Thanks again

3/4 throttle in all gears should be fine, but just a tip for future, when running in try to use mineral oil as, and I know this sounds daft, fully synthetic is TOO slippy to allow the rings to bed in properly!

it's better to change down and rev a little then labour an engine at low revs up a hill , im sure there no problem with your engine piaggio fill the tank with fully sythetic 2 stroke when you buy a new px125 or an auto scooter
