Some things not right there!!! I have a px125 2005 everything standard apart from a simoni exhaust which just makes it sound like a (LOUD) jack hammer and I can get 50mph on the flat.

Did you just plug and play-ed it or you ported the cases? hmm no 50mph is too slow even for a p&p cylinder kit... does the kit include the head?

A little harsh. However, it should not be ruled out!

DR180 won't give you any real increase in speed, you're limited by the gearbox ratios. You may get 5mph extra if you're lucky, but it should hold it longer on inclines and into headwinds. Porting isn't necessary on this kit, it's the most basic one out there. Which is why it's the cheapest. You may be able to pull a one tooth longer clutch, but I'm not sure.

Does it feel like it goes really well in 3rd gear and then dies in 4th? Or is it just all round slow? Is the Sito plus new? What main jet you running? Has metal been removed from anywhere? Or all standard?

hi, ive not taken any metal off , it goes really well in 1,2,3, but it just seems to bog down in 4th , its got a 120 main if i remember right, and an air filter with the holes drilled ,sito plus is about 6 months old (and already rusty!!) its got me buggered , think i will go back to the 20 tooth clutch gear and see how it reacts. thanks for all your help, keep it coming!!

Missed that, it'll be the clutch that's the problem - it's now overgeared.

think you are right, i will revert to the 20 tooth and try the sterling on it , maybe it would go better over the edge at beachy head? or perhaps a 200 engine might be a good birthday pressy!

Its only overgeared if you don't have the power! ;D If it were me I wouldn't give up until it had decent compression. DR kits have not so high performance heads. If you don't know already, read up on how to measure your squish. I expect it to be not so good. On a 180 you can skim the head to 1 mm squish. If you are not confident enough to skim yours you can buy one already done from SIP!

DR kits are crap, they're little more than a capacity increase. I've never come across anyone who's got a fraction of the power of a Polini, Malossi or Pinasco kit out of one. There's a reason why they're cheap.

So Nik are you saying that "DR" stands for downright rubbish? I wish you'd be more up front and to the point I'll get me coat..............................................

LOL, no, but I'd always go for the Polini for a multi-use (town and rally) scooter, or Malossi for hooligan use.

Do what you like if its a DR Kits you may as well bin it or plant flowers in the barrell there sh*t, I spent months trying every differant setup idea trying to get one to run right, in the end I through it in the solent and went for a Polini, problem solved.

Sat nav strapped to the handlebars/mirror is the only way I have found of checking speedo accuracy that accurately!!!! Was doing that today on a L*******a. The 30, 50, & 70 indicated speeds giving 28, 48 and 67.

Head down, wind behind me, on a slight downward slope on the A1 between Newcastle and Darlington my P2 was off the clock, must've been doing at least a ton........... imagine my surprise when I clocked my actual speed on my Garmin 12XL GPS running mlitary software.......... 57 mph........ fifty bl0ody seven miles per hour....... gutted!

Nik, Yeah that surpried me too. Tyre diameter etc make some difference of course. I'm using SCHWALBE Weatherman tyres so suit the scoot with higher rated speed etc. Joey. That's sounds much more like a scooter speedo for accuracy.

I got regularly clocked on the way to Scarborough at 65 by Gary from Scooterings GPS, and supposedly we reached 70 on one long downhill stretch. I'm happy with that on a pretty much stock P200

GPS 65mph on a standard 200 is actually pretty impressive. I'll bet that was about 75 on the clock!
