Hi , I'm very new to having a PX 125 disk and was wondering the best way to give my Carb a quick clean out, without stripping to much apart? I've been told to buy some carb cleaner in aerosol can and just spray it down the air intake into the carb while the engines ticking over ,is that right? Like I say I have only been a Vespa owner for a few months, Thanks

How old is the scooter, and are you experiencing problems with it?
If it's not broke, don't fix it.

The scooter is 05 plate, the engine just sounds a bit croaky and I don't know when it was last serviced. I thought it might be a good idea but maybe (NOT). My engine sounds very loud compared to other scooter's "but I do have a simonini exhaust" , which I'm told are known for being loud.

I'd be surprised if its a blocked carb. Main symptoms of that are a reluctance to fire up/tick over/misfires at revs etc, There's no harm in pulling the jets out to blow them through though, just to put your mind at rest. If you need a guide, ask on here and someone will talk you through it, it's not a big job.
Simonini's are noisy, crackly exhausts. It's most likely to be that.
