My first ride out with the Adelaide Scooter Kollective didn't end well. Broken gear cable ( new one too). Not the best way to return home on a Friday night :0( Attachments:

I think they'll forgive what you are in their eyes (a Newbie) having an issue. Nuisance if it was a new one. Overtight cables or did it just slip? Been there though when a Lambretta twistgrip shaft broke halfway along its length. Some 'git' in the past had been too tight to replace it so had repaired it by drilling it out and glueing in a brass bolt with the head cut off. It's a part that can't be seen when it situ. Riding along and it just came off in my hand! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr So, yep I've seen the inside of a pick-up truck's cab too. The recovery guy said that his 100% day repair record was now incomplete......................... 'cos he wasn't carrying a 1962 twist grip shaft on him! Tut tut. Lack of forethought eh?

Yeah, can't believe he wasn't carrying one of those, must have used the last one earlier in his shift eh. Didn't think for one minute I'd be the only one who's had a ride in a tow truck....still, it sucks when it happens. From now on I shall be carrying spare cables myself and a tool roll with an arsenal of tools. I'm not sure why it snapped tbh. But I will post a pic of where the cables go into the gear selector box. Not too sure about that. I think I can just about muster up some forgiveness and look at it this evening....

LOVL. You'll forgive her (got to be a her). The pix may prove useful as to where the cable broke. I have heard lately of a couple of cases where the nipples (see told you it was female) had pulled off the actual cable end. Not like it's easy to check this at assembly. Go on, show us the pix of yer girl!!!!!!
