Hello all, I recently bought in Germany an old stock of original Piaggio Carter Packings. Much to my surprise, the layout seemed to be the same for all the different parts. Not even 0.1mm difference. Strange, not ? After measuring the thickness, I found out that only 0.1mm and 0.23mm were available : PartID 112085 : 0.22mm (SS180) PartID 47219 : 0.10mm (used for ?) PartID 8244170 (difficult to read) : 0.23mm (used for?) Can anybody confirm and/or update my info ? Many thanks. Luc Greetings from Belgium

47219 is for a 152L2/VNA.
Says so on the packaging!

PartID 112085 is VSD1 Rally 180, not SS180 as you have stated. PartID 8244170 has VSD1 penned on it as well, if that is correct, Rally 180 again. Soou probably have more gaskets for Rally 180's than there are Rally 180 engines still running! PartID 47219 as Inspector Sbwnik says, AFAIK the casing on the 152L2/VNA is same as on the VBA/VBB/Sportique range, so would fit any of those models..

Hello Bryno, Don't forget that all packings have the same diminsions, except for the thickness ! If you visit the SIP site for carter packing, than PartID 100684140 is the gasket for 125 VNA, VNB1-6,VBB,VGLA/B and 150VBA. In this case 47219 (0.1mm thnickness) is usable for these models. I know from the Belgium forum that these old models may have leakage problems due to the fact that the thickness of 0.1mm does not seal perfectly both carters anymore. For that reason Vespa restorers apply special glue. A better solution is to mount a thicker gasket. I know that these are very difficult to find and some manufacturers even propose to use 2 gaskets of 0.1mm (they also know the problem). The Rally 180 gaskets could be a perfect solution for this problem : 0.23mm = 2x 0.1mm ! Does that make sense ? Regards. Greetings from Belgium

hello Belgium! Yes that makes sense though personally I've built a few vintage engines and never considered how thick the gasket was, nor realised there were different thicknesses available! Not had a problem with leaks nor use any gasket sealer, never found it neccessary, fitting 2 gaskets always feels like a bit of bodge to me!
