hi guys i was wandering if anyone knows how to fix a problem i have with all my lights cutting out. the head lamp, tail lamp, speedo light and break lights all cut out every time i ride yet the horn still works. the parking light always works but it is far to dim to be riding with at night. i have replaced the light switch and have fitted a new regulator but the problem still exists. The light comes back when the yellow regulator wire is disconnected and then reconnected. when the horn is disconnected the lights come back on when the horn button is pressed. This problem has been a real pain for me and i havent had any luck finding a solution. any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Tom

AC wiring is normally pretty straightforward. The first thing I'd check would be under the horncover and then at the bottom of the handlebars. Look for chaffed wires and the like.
I'd suspect the problem will be that the wire 'back up' to the switch from the horn though, it's a regular issue with them.

As Nik says, does sound like an earth short-out to me too.

Horn works off DC,which is why its still working - the rest is AC. 100% sure its going to be an earthing issue, or a chaffed wire shorting out. Happened to me - turned out to be a wire that was chaffing and shorting out.
Only other suggestion is a dodgy voltage regulator - have you checked the fuse?

Missed out the horn still working bit, but yes - it's the only thing on the DC side apart from the starter.
No fuses on the AC side, so strike that. Double check the connections at the junction box on top of the engine, and into and out of the regulator.
