Hi, just registered and was looking for some help. I'm new to the scene and have bought a 2011 Px 125 with 2000 km on the clock. When I take off in 1st there' s a slight dip in the power before it takes of. It runs we'll up through the gears and will sit a 55 no problem. The dip in power is a bit concerning especially when pulling away in traffic...any

Is it as you let the clutch out?

Yes. The power falls away and I have to give it more throttle

That's correct. As you let the clutch out, the engine struggles to pull the gearing, so you have to raise the revs.
Any geared vehicle acts the same.

Sorry as I increase the throttle to power dips then it picks up

So... You stick the scooter in gear, rev it slightly, dip the clutch, put it into gear, start to let the clutch out, you rev the engine and release the clutch, and then it dips once you're moving?

Could do with a bit more info, what have you already tried to fix this? Assuming you have tried all the usual and it starts normally. Just a stab in the dark but it could be the pilot jet. This is the other jet next to the main jet stack. There is a tiny little hole in the end of it which can get blocked and do similar to what you describe. btw, 55 flat out is not, no problem Attachments:

I had a similar problem with my Lammy. Nasty drop of power in 1st which meant having to give it more revs than should be necessary. Never figured it out as had it kitted and bigger carb. Erm, that wasn't very useful was it!

had this flatspot problem myself, as said make sure the pilot jet is clean. (use a strand of electrical wire to clean end hole in the jet). I never fully eliminated the problem, but turning the air mix screw out 1 turn improved it.

my px 150 does this especially when Ive been sat at traffic lights for a couple of mins at tickover. Hopefully when its run in and a SIP road exhaust replaces the cat/exhaust, this will cure it.
