I'm having troubles with my fuel gauge as it's not working, any idea's what the problem maybe?? everything else on the dash board works

Can be checked fairly easily with a multimeter; or it's very easy to remove the black plastic cap covering the sender on top of the fuel tank. Remove the three way pull off plug. Then unscrew (usually by hand) the retainer ring. You can then by wiggling it around remove the sender/float and test it for operation by re-connec ting the 3 way plug into the unit. There is a metal wiper that passes up and down some coiled wire to vary the resistance and give the fuel contents gauge its reading. I've done this removal to alter the angle of the float arm on mine to give a more true reading on the fuel gauge. If the gauge still doesn't work after moving it about (engine running of course) then suspect the Michael Mouse connections under the speedo head.................. !

I'd skip all that, I'd put a reasonable bet on it being the crap speedo design.
