I'm looking for my first ever Vespa, I'm looking at a 1974 Vespa super sprint 150cc the guy said it is in excellent original condition, its running fine, has original buff log book, it has not been registered in the UK so I would need to do that, I ain't really got a clue what these are worth and its a good 4 hour drive from my house so would like a rough idea of what its worth before I go and pay OTT for it, Its a friend of a friend who's selling it so I have only seen a pic of it but it looks in pretty good nic, so really just looking for a ballpark figure. Thanks for any help I know its hard to value like this but any help would be great Thanks Henry

Whoa, don't do anything hasty. Are you absolutely 100% certain of the origins of this scooter? There is an awful lot of shiny crap out there and a lot of them are deathtraps. I'm talking about Asian restorations, mainly from Vietnam. Have a read through this to give you some pointers. www.rovers-usa.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1938They are getting smarter, so if your bike doesn't tick all the boxes mentioned, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's legit. What does set alarm bells ringing is that it hasn't yet been registered in the UK. My personal recommendation is get a PX or LML to start with, which are much less likely to be a bodge, until you get a feel for the market. Please don't join the long list of unsuspecting buyers who have been stung by these bodgers.
