Sounds like maybe there is a Ray Davies in the fuel pipe? Check your pipe it isn't too long....

wondering if its a gear shaft problem,as when i was rebuiling it,i turned the engine on one side, where the hub side of the gear output shaft is located, and it came out of the new hub bearing,,possibly with the weight of the engine?had to re knock it in,,if the shaft wasnt tight enough in the bearing, could that cause the problemas im having? just been out on it again, and noticed when it starts to slow down, before dieing in 4th,if i put my clutch in it keeps the engine from stalling,,one last thing is that its seems to be using a lot of fuel also

Rear brakes binding?
Stick it in neutral, lie it down and spin the rear wheel. It should move freely with a slight rubbing noise. If you don't fancy lying her down, disconnect the rear brake cable and run it up and down the road, but I hasten to point out that 1) this is not a particularly clever idea, and 2) I am not condoning this idea as it is illegal....

I use one of these. Got mine from eBay but not too difficult to fabricate. Makes checking brake drag etc a doddle.

I'd guess next at something electrical struggling under load. Plug, CDI or pick up

ive changed the plug,ht coil ,cap, and cdi unit mate,no change, will also check the stator coils,if it ever stops raining something i thought of was that, with it being a new lml top end, maybe its overheating,in regards to the piston, not quite a seizure, but a expansion that is causing a bog down in 4th?

I think indian (lml) 150 top end's have head gaskets, does yours have one fitted? what colour is your plug as it could be an air leak, Id also try your px125 main jet set up as it also sounds like your getting to much fuel through. process of elimination, the jet's/ top end/ or exhaust.

Is this still the "happenining-after-ten-minutes-of-running" problem or now straight from the get-go? When it does this 'problem' does a shift to third mean you can get it to stay up on the revs or does it drop off here too? Reason for asking is that if the engine revs out OK in first, second and third but slows in fourth then revs fine when changed down to third it isn't carb/fuel etc. Could be a lack of compression which revs can mask but once under load allows the engine to bog down. Alternatively, if it's been got at before it could be a fourth gear issue as in overgeared perhaps? Mate has a std PX 125 that is poor in fourth up any slope at all (so I've got him to bang it down to third to maintain revs and hence speed) but fine when on straight or downhill!!!! Keep us all informed eh? Good Luck.

Our lady and mistress knows someone like that....
Lucia, next time you see Cloud 9 Sue, ask her about the hill coming out of Rhyl on the A55, and why I nearly dropped my scooter laughing.

Oh, go on then....
Coming back from Rhyl in about 2003 or so, you come up a large hill on the way back to Burkined (as the locals say it). I'm on my P2, Sue's on her P125, and I think we've another 200 or T5 with us too. We get half way up the hill and I see Sue quickly pull into a layby. I pull up behind her as she kills her engine. "what's up?" "It's losing power coming up the hill" "what gear were you in?" "Top" "................. erm, there aren't many hills in Birkenhead, are there?"
That's all.

[kru 251] its ok in all gears for the fist ten minutes or so,then i select 4th,and after a minute or so of riding,it starts to lose power, and comes to a slow stop,if i rev it,[while in gear] there is no response whatsoever to the power loss,no pick up,nothing, however if i pull in the clutch,,i get full revs again,,also,it will tick over all day in neutral, and never miss a beat,,the gearing is also correct mate, same gears from when i bought the bike new, standard 20 tooth clutch cog also, intresting story about your mate, power loss does seem to happen more on a slight hill, than on the flat with me too

Do you ever get that feeling that there is something at the back of your mind going "I KNOW THE ANSWER TO THIS, YOU'VE SEEN IT BEFORE"?
I'm there at the moment... It's sounds so familiar, but I can't place it.
If I was anywhere near organised then I'd start bookmarking threads so I could refer back to them. But I'm not, I just have to go by the bit of knowledge I have, the experience I've gained, and the guesses that I camoflage by sounding like I know what I'm talking about...

Dying scooter. Vespacian. The engine may tickove all day as it's only running on its primary (idle) jet at that point. Open the throttle up and the main jet takes over and the idle jet is redundant then. Done a plug chop? This desribes it as good as I could (actually better) so try it. Might show up you have a fueling issue perhaps? www.mopedarmy.com/wiki/Plug_chop

I have this signed copy of the full, original Quadrophenia script as well:-Dave, Spider (and me)!

I've just realised I discussed your bike recently (I think...).
Is the actual reg number different to the one displayed on the front? If so, according to a traffic plod mate at any rate, you could theoretically end up in court for displaying false plates. He reckons that even though there is no legal requirement for them to be shown, if they are fitted then they should match the rear.
Just thought I'd pass that on.
