I saw this video last week:
This was apparently on tubeless rims. Not sure whether the slime would stop it blowing out, but I know I feel a lot safer with the stuff in the tubes.
I have split rims/tubes and I wouldn't go anywhere without it.

One of his clubmates posted in on SBW (may have been the lad who filmed it?) and he reckoned he was probably running under pressure on his tyres, take a look at the size of the rider, he should have been running well over 28psi in that tyre!

when it comes time to change your tyre, and you have sealent in your tube, does the sealent plug the valve when releasing the air? if it does that would'nt be to handy.

If ever thinking of using tyre sealant in tubeless designs...........don't! The SIP rims might be OK, but a friend had his Honda VTR rear rim go porous through the corrosive properties of the stuff!!!! Expensive error.

Unable to contact previous owner. Is there any way to check if tyres have already been treatede. If I open the valve would any leak out.

If it worries you just buy two new tubes and treat them yourself. Can't put a price on safety. As I use the PX200EFL as the scoot of choice for me and the better half I put the SIP tubeless wheels on to give it the safest option. I have had two wood screws through motorcycle tyres in the past that stayed up even with them firmly imbedded in place. Tubes would have gone 'pop' instantly.

Are they SIP's? If so, contact them and ask their opinion. Me? After my mates issues with his rims = no way! I think that get-you-home tyre sealant/inflation might be OK and I do carry a can for that reason but I wouldn't use it as a general, all time use product. Just my opinion mind you.

The sealant isn't brilliant either. I used it on a car puncture and was told by Kwikfit (or whoever) that it was the worst solution to a simple problem. What you should use is a repair kit - plug, glue and compressed air apparently.
At the end of the day, there is no 100% answer to this problem, but I'm investing in a repair kit for my tubeless rims. I'd not use Goop or similar in tubeless, you shouldn't need it.

Thank you to all who responded. I appreciate you taking the time to do so. Some say do, others say don,t. Now I don,t know what to do. However all opinions valued

Like sbnik, I have a repair plug and inflator bought for my motorbike wheels/tyres, but have yet to test it (hope never to have to either). Must put it in the PX's toolbox though rather than have it sitting under the seat of the Ducati 916!!!!!
