Was it a restricted one?
I've just done a bit of research for you, and the ideal set up for a quick engine seems to be:
102 main jet. BE3 atomiser stack Drill a 2mm hole through the heart shaped indentation on the base of the air filter.
Try that, see how it goes.
Remember to keep an eye on the plug colour.

When I started messing with my PX I wanted to get the best from a standard set-up for reliability etc. This mod made a difference you could actually feel (mine is a PX 200E). Yes, had to upjet a bit. www.vespalabs.org/Vespa_Tuning/Air_Filter_Hole

That's a huge pair of holes in that! Hmm, I may have to try that on mine

Well I needed a new air filter anyway so bought the one with holes, but was all prepared for drilling a 5 and a 7mm hole. It really does work wonders with the upjet to suit. They both have the same part number, but the one with holes has a 7A designator whereas the restricted one is a 7B

Always good to get feedback, thanks for that. Especially when it's good feedback

Morning.
So I've got a standard 2000 PX125 disk.
I'm guessing my main jet will be a 96... So if I drill out my heart (I can't seem to find the drilled out ones online anywhere) am I looking at a 102?

When I did mine, I already had a 98 in having fitted a sito+ exhaust. I went up to a 106 and worked down with plug chops until I had a nice ginger biscuit colour on my plug. That was a 100 for mine, but yours may well be higher (or lower), as all engines are different. You want a 7mm hole over the main jet stack and a 5mm hole over the idle jet stack like this. Stuff the filter with cotton wool and dab some grease on your drill bits, both will help catch the swarf. If you can, find someone with an airline (I went to my local garage) and blow out the filter once it's done as you do not want any swarf getting into your engine. In my experience, this little mod will not give you more speed, but will increase your power. For me as a big guy, there was a discernible difference in pulling power going uphill, and the scoot was much more responsive off the lights and out of junctions.

Thank you dude! This is some solid advice. Think I'll give it a drill over the weekend and get some jets ordered. Might start around a 100 as I think it runs a touch rich as is it. Cheers dude, I'll keep this updated on my findings. To be honest it'll have to be a pretty noticeable change for me to feel the difference as I really don't know what I'm doing but I'm not going to learn by just leaving it.
Cheers.

No worries, mate, just passing along the knowledge I've gleaned from the very helpful guys on here. On the basis that your engine is bog standard, then your main jet will be a 96 (check first). I'd be inclined to go a bit higher than a 100 to start with once you've drilled out the filter, maybe as high as a 104 to err on the safe side. Main jets are only a couple of quid a pop anyway, so won't break the bank and much cheaper than repairing a seize!

Ah of course, a lack of fuel is a lack of oil! Cheers for the heads up on that one, could have been a costly mistake.

Morning.
Just ordered a 98, 100, 102 and a 104 from Beedspeed. Hopefully here for the weekend and I can give this a blast! I also found the pre-drilled filter but think I'll just drill mine to start, save myself £20.

Can anyone Help me with this ? I’m drilling my air filter, I’ve bought a selection of main jets and a BE3 atomiser, do I need to change the air corrector too ? It’s a 140. I’m new to this and learning hard and fast on the job lol ( 93 PX 125 )
