Hey.
The other day the lights and horn went altogether on my Vespa. I say Vespa but it is a VBB frame with 10 inch conversion and LML engine.
It has electric start but that went ages ago, stator I think. That's never bothered me as I never used it anyway.
I know bugger all about the electrics (and not much much about the engine!). Where's best to start?
I know the wiring isn't the best quality as a lad I know wired a new CDI for me and said so.
Ta,
Dan

VBB with an LML engine?
Nightmare.... Usual question, does it have two colour paint, twin single seats, a number plate surround and a black plastic single mat on the centre of the frame floor?
Rip the wiring out and talk to an adult about it... That's a nasty combination there.
Oh, and the stator isn't related to your starter, that'll be a battery, relay or fuse issue (assuming the wiring hasn't melted).
Have we had this conversation once?

Actually, wrong on every single count regarding the aesthetics. It's not from Vietnam.
I knew what I was buying when I bought it. There's a dealer here who sells loads of them well over-priced, which is why I bought it 3rd hand for much cheaper to tide me over the year I planned to spend in Oz. As it is I'm probably staying here now and want to get it working fully to flog it and bring my PX over.
The LML engine is pretty solid, frame is good. Electrics aren't the best.

Beedspeed do wiring looms for old style vespas with px / LML engines fitted, that may be the way to go.

Sorted now with a mate. Wiring is a bit of a mess and could really do with starting again. That's for the next bloke though!
