Any body had any chroming or powdercoating carried out lately ?... weighing up the options of having work done on wheels and shock spring i have, or buying new already done . Any feedback on prices and turnround appreciated .

depends what you want the finish to be Wheels and shock I'd say £30 - £40 to powdercoat, much much more to chrome New rims are all very of a very poor finish painted or chrome, in my experience, I have actually bought new rims, stripped all the crappy new paint off them straight away and done them properly.

Thanks for reply Bryno, since i posted , hairy bikers at work have come up with suggestions for local places for wheel refurb, so just about sorted .....got another query tho. A few months back in scootering somebody was advertising a top plate for vespa centre stand bolts to fit thro so they dont dig into frame....cant find issue it was in ,,you got any ideas ?...

No mate, not seen that, but i've been making my own to do that job for years LOL.
I use stainless steel 3mm (IIRC), cut to shape, big as I can with it sitting flat (i.e. not over any seams in the floor), drill for the stand holes and bolt it up.
I have also made them out of alluminium before whick is a bit easier to cut and drill.
Works a treat!

Or you could use one of Shovells centre floor racks (perfect for fuel cans) that work on the same principle
