Took the scoot (PX200E EFL) for a run today. Fine. Got to a mates house about 15 miles away. Pulled up on driveway. No issues. Onto another mates place about twenty miles away (same driving style/speeds as before) Natter for a couple of minutes. Two stroke oil puddle on driveway. Coming from the mixture screw rubber grommet at back of housing and running down. Not a slight drip but a fair amount. How does it get there? Blown back through carb/airfilter on overun perhaps? Cure? Maybe a plastic small bore pipe in the lower area where it obviously gathers then route it to the carb mouth so it gets sucked in/burnt? Spoke to another chap with a Vespa who said that "It just happens". So, anyone out there know the answers? Common? Sign of issues elsewhere (and expensive knowing my luck!) Cheers

'It happens' covers it. Just check your sight glass hasn't cracked, it can happen that if it should then oil will run down the outside of the pipe and do exactly what you said. It's a half hour, £2 part type fix though

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I can see how the siteglass could cause this but no, it isn't that. I have fitted a small bore plastic pipe from the 'gathering pool' area and taken it (via a small hole drilled into the underside of the air cleaner housing) into the carb throat. Seems to work so far as when I removed the air cleaner to check there was oil dribbles showing at both ends of the pipe. Hope it works, but need a decent run out to prove it. Allsyles Scooters said this fault can happen if those two large socket cap screws are screwed down too much and distort the area. So, I might investigate that as who knows who did what to it in the last 11 years!!!

That's a fair point by Allstyles, they can also cause the slide to stick.

I had an 'interesting ' glitch with my tube mod as it moved a bit and jammed the slide too. Luckily, small bore pipe didn't hold the revs too high!!!!! A quick length check and a cable tie sorted that issue. I explained my modification to Allstyles and was told that that's how some people used to do it in the past to avoid these issues................ so not a unique fix by any means.
