HI,
As youve guessed im new to scootering so excuse my queries if they seem daft, but il only learn from asking you experienced members...
I have fitted a new front hub, along with new rim and tyre, The rim is catching as it spins, and is spinning as something is buckled....... It had spun like the rim was buckled previously, but now leads me to think maybe it has had a knock previously before i bought it, maybe the axle is bent ??
Took it for a quick ride earlier and it rides terribly now.........like im riding on oval wheels ! and very unsafe, somethings not right.
Any suggestions would be of assistance
Thanks

Hi You dont say if you fitted new bearings or not, there are bearings in the back plate as well as the hub that can cause shaking and juddering especially underbraking. You will see if the axle is damaged when you remove the backplae. Its not a big job to change but does require the forks removing and a press.

VBB?
Did it come at a very reasonable price, have a two tone paint job and twin seats? I'd guess at stainless legshield trim and number plate surround too.....
Am I right?

Oh, and BTW, I'd remove your registration from your ID section, you'd not want the scooter ID to get stolen?

All i've done is removed the centre cap, removed the split pin from the centre nut, and removed the centre nut and washer.
And put back together as above
Didnt come across bearings..........?
Thanks

TFFT.
I'm sick of seeing posts on various forums that involve the words 'VBB/VBA' and 'problems'.

mate, your wheel bearings are not in the hub as a px is, their located in the hub backplate as a rally, 150 super etc. Grab the front wheel top and bottom and lift up and down to feel for excessive play, if there is the wheel bearings are shot and that will be the problem. Also do same with your forks to check the steering bearings. You say the wheel is catching when spinning, can you see what its catching on?

cheers, bearings are fine, and no play in the wheel. Ive tapped the rim on abit harder, think it may not have pushed on with it being a new part, sitting abit better now , it was catching on the back plate of the hub. aint had chance to ride it tonight but will take it for a run tommorow
Cheers
