Hi, I am new to this forum, live in South Africa... Please help...I have restored a vespa p200, completely std and looks brand new, as standard have fitted a malossi pipe, but now want to really tune the motor. I have ordered malossi 210 kit, complete with head etc, also the 30mm carb kit complete with cables, my idea was to just bolt on these parts with the pipe, but i believe the crank and case should also be modified otherwise this conversion will not work.... I am technical by trade so am able to strip and DIY everything myself, have restored everything myself from front to back. I seek advice on the above modification please, the results of just bolting on, can what to do to the case and crank, or what crank to purchase to make it work well... any advice will be greatly appreciated. Best regards from sunny SA.

Cool, appreciate the advice, will try the kit first , as per your advice and see how it goes....I see on the polini site there are crank modifications ( cutting) and casing mods , has anyone tried this and what success have you had. What jetting did you use on you malossi kit, top speed you got?? etc... will modifiying the crank and casing make a big difference ? Dont you like the malossi pipe ? thanks again !!!!

I've done the lot on a Polini 180 kit and it made a huge difference over having it just bolted on. All the measurements and instructions came with the kit, an engineer friend did all the work and I ended up gaining the thick end of 10mph (maybe 15kmh) extra over just having it bolted on. It went from being left by standard P200s to leaving P200s behind.
I entirely agree about the T5 fourth too, but everything else is down to trial and error to an extent.
