Hi hope some genius out there can aid me with some issues:
here goes, I.m looking at this lx50 for my friend as it didn't run. Compression test was my first port of call and with only 75psi I decided to take off the top end and replace with new barrel, rings, pin and small end bearing. rebuilt it and all now together again. I didn't expect this to remedy the problem but it had to be done as with no compression no broom broom
turned it over by hand to check all was fine ,rings not catching etc.
The state over the old piston had signs of burning and no oil getting to it. Removed the oil pipe from the carb from the pump and pulled on the oil pump cable to simulate the bike at full whack to see if any oil was coming from the pipe, none was and my understanding of this is that it is a diaphram pump and should pump up the oil in stages. is there any test to the pump i can do to rule it out?
also any other tests to be done on the cdi etc are most welcome
sorry for the long post
Cheers in advance
Chris
