Hello :) :-[ iJust bought my first 1998 vespa scooter, with no mot and on e bay!!!.big mistake whenyou don't known much about motor bike or vespa, It hasn't start very well after it fell the mot on bits and bobs like head lamp, both tyre, indicator switch, stearing bearing. A different mecanic start on the job and pick up on a major corrosion problem underneath the chassis, and told me it was a right off :-[!!! I am now really gutted, and not sure what to do! anew chassis is about £ 400 + fitting, or re sale on spare and repair for may be half the price i bought it for. (£750 with the little wor done on it). Cheers. A

Welding will be more than strong enough, or it wouldn't pass an MOT. It's what holds the scooter together in the first place!

People often worry when they hear the term "welding", but done properly it is a great way of strengthening items and so I think you'll be fine and maybe will have that "Ebay Bargin" (sp) that you so wanted!!!!! Let us all know how it goes eh?
