I am no expert, but to fit push button starting your engine casings would need the hole to fit a starter motor and flywheel, etc ring gear to allow the motor to turn the engine. If they are not already there (unlikely on a 1984 machine??) then you can't fit a starter motor to the engine. The wiring requires a lot of cabling, starter switch, battery and associated regulators etc. Won't be a simple job and likley to require a new engine capable of holding a start motor at the very least I'd say... not to mention the skill and knowledge to fit the wiring and associated bits. Keep the kickstart.

The electric boot can't be done without new casings. Simple as that.
The battery side of things is simple enough, what do you intend to run off it?

maybe just a couple of extra spots but my main reason was for fault finding. i had a lot of trouble with indicators and headlight earlier in the year just thought it would be easier than having to keep starting her up and having her filling up my small garage with fumes while i try to find the problem.

I think the indicators can only run on AC current, and to rewire the headlamp could involve a new loom, though I can see that it's possible it would work without that, as long as you changed the switch for a DC one and managed to run the horn seperately.
Other than that, all you need to do is change the three pole AC regulator for a five pole AC/DC one, fit a battery (the mount will fit on an AC frame) and battery to feed spotlights etc. Fairly simple.

For best results, use relays with your lights as running them direct can cause overload problems with switches.
To wire up a relay - Run a power wire to the switch Run a power wire to one of the large terminals on the relay Run a wire from the switch to one of the smaller terminals Earth the other small terminal Run a wire from the other large terminal to the light Run a wire from the light to earth.
I'd recommend toggle switches BTW, they seem more water resistant, but if you go to a chandlers yard you may find some even better ones.
