I was a 60's scooter boy, and have promised myself another bike for years, I have just retired but can not afford a 150 GS VS5 like I had in 1964, but will be satisfied with second best a 160 GS, but like the 150, they are too expensive, I now have plenty of time and the ability to do a good quality restoration, but unfortunately not the readies to get my first choice scooter. I will not consider a PX as they are far too angular, but on seeing an advert for a 150GT it looks to me to be very similar to a 160 GS or the SS180 except for the front Mudguard, Side panels/Bubbles or the headset. Can anyone tell me if the dimensions of the frames in question are indeed the same, if so can I put a set of vivo 160 GS panels and mudguard strait on a GT frame.

Never heard of a 150 GT, a 125 GT?
If so, that's based on the Sprint/Rally body, so nothing is the same as the GS 160.
Spanish 150s model is pretty close to the GS 160.
The frames are different at the leggies, but very close and has same big bubble sidepanels. Headset is not same, but you can change that easy enough to the GS style assuming fork tube matches)...

Where have you seen the scooter? I've only seen GT150s advertised coming from one place, often tarted up to look like a GS too...
Got a link?

Hello Bryno, Many thanks for the info. Unfortunately I have given you a bum steer, The scooter I saw advertised is listed as a 160 GT 1973, with a px200 engine. I'm afraid the pics of the machine wont cut and paste, but it is on French ebay. albeit the bubbles are flat sided as the ss180, they fill the space better than do most other models . The curve of the bubble fits the curve of the frame and looks more like the way 150/160 GS and the ss180 bubbles fitted. I don't know if this extra info may help you to help me. Bobby.

sbwnic. The machine is advertised on French ebay, and is listed as a 160GT, perhaps its a model made for the French market,

Just looked on ebay.fr and can't find it? Can you post the complete URL for the item?

sbwnic Hello nic. I'm afraid my knowledge of computers is even less than that of current scootering matters, I think this is what you asked for. http:// annonces.ebay.fr/viewad/vespa-160GT-1973-/50361145145 The section is called Petites annonces and is on page 4, I hope this helps, as I'm feeling more stupid by the second.

the 160 GT is a Spanish model, Looks like the Sprint, nothing about it will be same as the GS160 i'm afraid, and being a Spanish made model it will have lots of differences to the Italian Sprint which will make it a challenging model to own.
There are much better alternatives for what you want, as I said, if you want a GS160 look alike, best go for a Spanish 150S
