hi all, i'm a new vespa rider and recently bought a 1966 super 150, and the problem started when i filled up. i put the exspensive petrol in instead of the cheaper one, put the oil in when home . a few days later took it out for a run and the engine just cut out about 3 miles later. now ican only get about a minute turning it on in the garden , ive changed the spark plug , petrol with a new mix in , it starts up fine but then just cuts out , is there a good enough reason or does it sound something a little more sinister ,when its running it sounds fine and well, but then the cut out , i'm not that mechanically minded so if anyone has a idea could you possibly put it in lemans terms , thanks

Hi sounds to me like you have got crap in the carb, possibly from running low on fuel, old tanks do have some crap in them, take jets out of carb and blow them through if that doesnt work you may have to strip carb. Try removing fuel pipe from carb and see if fuel is flowing well you may have to clean tank out as well.
