Hi everybody, I've just registered on here as I picked my new PX125 up yesterday. I'm 26, I live in Doncaster. I originally started restoring a 1985 gp150 but this is taking quite a while so I've got this px for something to ride. I've got my full bike licence and I've had a couple of sports bikes but I've always missed my little 50cc moped I had when I was 16! Its the two stroke engine I missed. Rode the px home from nottingham yesterday, 50miles up the A60. Nice and steady of course so as to run her in gently, only another 900km to go!

Cheers! this is the 1st geared Scooter I've had so having some fun getting used to the twist shift. The px is pretty cool, its done about 80 miles so far and I'm sure I can notice the engine freeing up a little. I'm definitely interested to know if there are any restrictors in place though, dealer says there is. I'll ask at 1st service.

I'd be interested to know the method of de-restricting! Is it just a new exhaust job and possibly re-jet depending?? I filled up with petrol for the first time this evening, when setting off after the scooter bogged down a bit at low revs, like it didn't want to get going. Is this usual?

From what I've seen around the web it is just a case of changing the exhaust and re- jetting. And maybe a new air filter.
Don't know how that would affect future MOTs though once the cat has been bypassed. Are newer scooters tested more strictly for emissions same as with cars? If so you're bypassing the very thing that was put in to make it comply with the emission regs. So will be worth keeping what you take off to put back on when it goes in for MOT in the future.

yer right ben...change exhaust & re-jet carb, but, its like you say, its puttin' em' back like they used to be....find a scooter friendly MOT garage & they won't bother about things like emissions...just brakes, lights & steering
