Hello anyone that can help! I've now owned an ebay 1981 P125X for a week, read the Haynes too many times and need some advice on getting her running! Spark on plug when earthed to engine casing - OK, new coil, HT and plug. Contact breaker working OK and gep set correctly. Fuel line clear and petc**k OK, runs easily when fuel pipe removed off carb. Carburettor cleaned through and in good nick, jets clear, float looks good, throttle moves easily. Good resistance on kick-start (turns over 4-5 times each kick). This model doesn't have a kill switch, ignition switch checked and OK using continuity tester etc. Cannot get a splutter or any smoke on kickstart so don't think theres any ignition happening yet! Any ideas on what else to try before we head off to the garage...

I would try to pour a few drops of gasoline into the carb hole and give it a kick start see if it shows a sign of life
