Is your battery dead?

It should still be working when the engine is running. If it does not work it can either be some loose or oxidised connection or the horn has given up the ghost and you need a new one but it's quite unlikely to be honest. Take the horncast off the legshield and chech both the fastons on the actual horn and the connections on the middle of the shield. Why not, it may be a switch problem as well.

Thanks for the replies, just had a look at the connections and they seem fine, had a look at the switch seemed ok but not to sure what it should/ should't look like if its broken! The wires seemed in good condition The battery is fine and the light switches are working ok to. I don't know what else to try!

The horn on an electric start PX disc receives it's power directly from the battery so WILL NOT work if the battery is dead or low. Turn on your ignition but don't start the scoot, press the horn button and listen closely to the horn, if you hear a slight click, or even a very feint beep then your horn is energising but the battery is too weak to operate the horn at full capacity. Is your electric start still working ok?

re horn and batt. my px 125 disc horn only works when the engine is running. I disconnected mybattery to test it (5.9v) and then refilled it with batt water in the hope it would charge but ti no avail. my horn is so quiet that with te engine running you can almost not hear it. I have dissconnected the horn, cleaned all terminals, checked the switch and all but it seems I can do nothing to make it louder. whats next?

New battery fella, if it's only showing 5.9v then the odds are it's discharged too much. You could try a proper trickle charge (2amp,) but I think it may be too far gone.
