I think something blew this afternoon cos they were fine when I left work but riding in slow traffic the engine cut out and then the lights stopped working (headlight and tail). The vespa is running ok but I was wondering if something might have blown when the scoot stopped and that is connected to the lights.
I don't know what to do. What do I do? Is there a simple answer, like tweaking the fuse box? Do i take it to a mechanic? How much will it cost and where do i go in central london?
check youre main fuse and also any earths that are around the lights, follow back the wiring, especialy the earth to see if you can find any problems, sometimes it is a very easy fix that a dealer will charge big for

The indicator lights are working, the petrol light is working, but the headlight/tail and dash lights are not. Would one bulb blowing short the whole thing, or is it something more sinister. As I said when I believe the lights went the vespa cut out and I had to start it up again.
jasondoe: Yeah but by asking it now shows I didn't so any other feedback please

arcobalenorider: great project!! also, thanks for sharing so many pics. It's the best way to learn from others! May I suggest, as you get disassembling the engine, to post as many descriptive images of parts gone wrong/worn out?! that gives people a great visual reference.

Guest: Im new to the vespa world . Ive got a 1981 p125x and im trying to get it through the mot. I need to know if the break light is supposed to come on when I use the front break?
Jan 18, 2015 14:35:32 GMT 1
tricky d : From my experiance rear brake light only indicates foootbrake application.

sime66: Later PXs have front brake light switch too (not sure of year off top of my head). Mines 1983, has no front brake light switch, and is not a problem on MOT. For you the simple answer is No, Don't worry.
