have a look at the top of your carb (like dustbin lid )when your bikes running, seeps out of there if its too slack, also if its sprained by overtightening, might need another o ring washer

cheers jack, but wasnt that. scoot has also started bogging a bit when in 4th and been going steady for 5 mins or so! think i could be looking at a carb rebuild, gaskets and all. worried oil is not getting to engine and dont want throwing off!! thanks for your tips tho mate, and any other advice is welcome.

hi, if you find a way to keep the tray clean - file a patent for it... ;D i don't think there's a way to prevent it, its just the carb spiting fuel outside, just bits of it, and that builds up in the tray- i don't think it has to do with a leak or sth
what you can do is put the rubber plug, the one that closes the hole in the back , where the idle mixture screw is. it wont prevent the oil building up in the tray but it will keep the area outside relatively clean
but, even if you close that hole, you still got the clutch breather hole. the area is always damp from oil. its design is faulty in the first place..
its a vespa...

I had the same problem with my autolube, it was caused by the nut that holds the oil pipe becoming loose. I didn't notice it at first but it slowly became worse. I ended up seizing the engine due to lack of oil in the mix.

If you are really worried about it disconnect the Autolube and mix straight into the tank. This is something i would do anyway as i have seen too many oil pumps fail.If you mix it yourself at least you know it's getting into the engine. In my opinion the Autolube system is just another thing which isn't needed and can go wrong.
