Hi Chaps,
A little bit of a problem here, so I'm looking for some other folks experiences to restore some sanity!
While taking the wheel off the other day after a puncture (long cold story) all the wheel nuts came off ok, apart from one which came out completely, thread and all, right from the hub. At the moment its back in but just turning round in the thread. Has this happened to anyone else? Im guessing its only safe enough to gingerly scoot the 6 miles to the local dealer and ask their opinion. The other 4 bolts are all fine and done up as tight as I can manage without a torque wrench. I just hope a new rear hub is not needed as funds are tight this time of year!

there are 5 nuts that hold the 2 rim halves together and 5 that connect the whole rim to the hub
if you MUST ride to the dealer, i would make sure the nut that is missing is the one that holds the 2 rims together, while you make sure the 5 nuts that hold the WHEEL to the HUB are securely there
i didnt check it in a lab but that just what my logic tells me... :-P

Good point Rudi, thanks for that. I did ride (gingerly) to the dealer - stopping once halfway to check the bolts (all were fine) They're putting a new bolt all the way through and fastening with a nut so hopefully this will make it 100% safe once more!
