I bought a pair of bullet lights from ebay for my PX (or my GT200, tbh) and as lovely as they are to look at, I'm wondering now how to wire them up. They arrived with only one connecting wire coming from the internal bulb housing. I queried this with the vendor and he said that infact most of these lights usually ended up not wired in at all, and were purely for decoration. i19.ebayimg.com/08/i/001/18/a8/422f_1.JPGReally, is that true? I don't know anyone else who has a scoot with extra lights.. but I assumed they were all working lights. Anyone who has owned a vintage vespa or even a modern PX with bog standard lights knows that these babies need more lighting.. I thought that was the original reason for the whole mod extra light thing, originally.. and then afterwards of course, the fashion aspect. Anyway, the vendor also said that the light case acted as the earth in the event that I did wire it up. It has a little rubber shoe on the bottom of the mounting screw, (presumably to reduce vibrations). But can anyone tell me how I would go about wiring this up. I would really like to have some "working" extra lights on the front of my scoot.

Take a live feed from your headlight ,either main bulb or side light ( depending when you want your extra lights to work ) then make an earth lead to come off lamp housing to the bolt holding your crash bars on . Job done.

Thanks for that, ise. Sounds simple enough. I am an electrical dunce. I was dead chuffed to have fitted a monstrous Stebel Air Horn to my GT200, and I had a full on circuit diagram to follow for that one.
Talking of which, I'd quite like to get some nice chrome trumpets for the PX. Once you've got used to such an airhorn on one scoot, it's hard to go back to the weedy little bog standard horn on other scooters. It's dead handy when hacking through London on my daily commute.. there's far too many lemming/pedestrians or beligerant militant reclaim-the-streets-style cyclists who need reminding (loudly) that there are other people to consider on the roads than just themselves.
I suppose that's actually a topic for another thread, though.
