Think I just broke mine I swapped the clutch lever and while I was at it I wanted to try and fix something that had been bothering me since I replaced a snapped clutch cable a few months ago. This is quite hard to explain but since replacing the cable after changing gear the lever wouldn't return entirely in one motion, it kind of required a double movement to get it back to it's starting position so usually I'd change gear and still have the clutch held down a little bit afterwards which while not impeding my riding was a bit of an annoyance. Anyway, after swapping the lever (had to undo the trunion at the bottom of the cable first to get enough slack) it was biting too early so I tried messing with the adjuster and got it a lot better but not perfect, so then tightened it some more which is when the thread looks to have snapped It's in 2 halves but somehow still staying on. The scoot is just about ridable (still biting a bit early and not resolved the double movement thing) but is it safe? How easy (and costly) is it to replace the adjuster thread? I'm not sure if I've explained this very well but I'm not really that sure how the adjuster works and while everyone says have a go at stuff yourself it's buggering stuff up like this that puts me off!

The adjuster is easily changeable, at about £3 it is cheap also. You can get adjusable clutch levers also. You can't really bugger it up as long as the mend of the cable is not too 'frayed'.

Pretty straight forward, swapped the cable again while I was at it.. Though the adjuster I got hold of must be an after market spare as it's shorter than the snapped one, think with a longer one I could completely eradicate the double movement thing but it's miles better now anyway so probably won't bother!
