Still slowly bringing my GL back to life, before I ring the suppliers for all the new trim bits is there a knack to attaching the chrome legshield trim?
The trim I took off from the previous owner came in two symmetrical pieces and was attached crudely with whatever small screws could be found. It also looked quite large in diameter and not at all flexible.
How should it stick, I gather there's a crimping tool but are there other ways?
Cheers, Rich

not as tricky as it seems pal, i fit some on my GL & PX, start from the top & just tap it down gently with a rubber mallet, if it springs off anywhere just fit one of the screws there & carry on. best to get some 1'' wide insulating tape & fold even over yer legshields where its gonna fit. you can cut any tape off afterwards gently with a razor blade. good luck. PS if it ain't got any small screw holes in it, you might need a crimping tool or pincers.

i know that there are two kinds of trim
the metal type you probably referred to - that needs a tool, and the plastic type
the plastic is springy , and a nightmare to put on, but you don't need any special tools. it took me about an hour to get it on , and the trick is to use soap or grease. i don't think it can be done without some lubricant...
also, the two edges are stubborn close, so as you start to put it on the legshield you can carefully use a screwdriver to open the edges as you progress

the type i got had 5 small holes on the inside of the trim to put the small chrome self tappers in against the legshield lip

the easiest way to fit the plastic shaped ones is to make a perfect straight cut directly under the headlight yes cut them in half lots of lube and a rubber hammer a doddle / if yeah leggys are straight
