Passed my test a couple of weeks back - yay! Bloody weird spending a few days pootling about on a CB600 (ignoring the brief 85mph sprint to catch up with my instructor on a dual carriageway after being caught at some lights), even weirder climbing back on the T5 afterwards....
But now my L-plates are a thing of the past i'm toying with the idea of doing some work on the engine (currently a stock T5 running through a Sito Plus), mainly for power rather than speed as i've discovered just how sluggish the old girl gets with a passenger sat behind me. So i was wondering....
1. Is it worth going for a Malossi/Polini kit - how good are they and how easy are they to fit? And would any further bits be needed to make the most out of the power increase, i.e. carb upgrade, further engine bits etc?
2. Would it be better/cheaper to just fit a 200 engine instead?
3. Taking into account the power increase with any of the above mods, not to mention weight increase of carrying a passenger (something which it seems i;m doing rather a lot of now), are there any decent ways of beefing up the brakes on a T5 that don't involve doing a disc conversion?
4. Is all this speculation ridiculous when i could just trade the bke in and get a PX200?!?

Personally I'd sell the T5 and get a stock P2 disc. IMO for 'touring', riding 2 up, reliabilty, etc the P2 is the better prospect than a modded T5 and a more economical option...
Though as an alternative, for not much more than you would spend kitting the T5 you could pick up a P2 engine to drop in your T5 frame.
