OK, I have eventually got my dating certificate for my GS160 but it's taken me ages to get there and it's been down to the state of the frame number - the metal was quite pitted and along with the very light stamping, I've had a hell of a job getting to make them clear enough to read.
What I want to do now is go over the original numbers to make them even clearer but I want to do them (or get them done) in the original italic size and style.
Do any of you guys know of anywhere that I can get this done? Obviously I know this could sound very iffy but all I want to do is enhance what is allready there and save it from any further damage and not alter or change any of the numbers. Is there another way of approaching this?
I have allready spoken to the Police about this by asking them if there was any way that I could use their forensic dept. to see if they could bring the numbers out a bit more but they said they could only help if it had been a stolen scooter which of course it isn't so they couldn't help in the end.
Anyway, any helpfull suggestions much appreciated.
Graham

I believe frame stamping must be done at a DOT testing station. so enhancing it would probably also need to be done there. It has to be officially witnessed. Try your local Dept of Transport offices through the local council.
