Got a 2nd hand chrome one in as new condition for my PX, 3 sherberts with the P&P on eBay.
Will fit it at the weekend. Is it straight forward enough? Anything to watch out for?

If you mean the top cover then it couldn't be easier. One screw off and on. Make sure it's the same as the one you take off though 'cos I think the pre electric start ones were slightly different. I bought one from a trade stall at a rally which was marked as 'PX' and it wouldn't go anywhere near it, which I put down to it being a pre lecky start. I could be wrong though, it might have just been sh*te.

Yes, the top cover. Had a quick glance this morning and I noticed the large retaining screw. Was hoping it would just be a case of that coming out

Be careful fitting the new one - you may catch the selector cable like I did and it is very hard to change gear when the cable is clamped by the cover!

in my humble experience, bought two in the past, neither fit right, stick with genuine piaggio

You were right on both counts Rob.
Couldn't be easier to switch but it doesn't fit. It actually does fit not too badly (just some very minimal protrusion on the side nearest to you) the bit the screw goes through is too far over to the left to match up.
Anyone know where (if at all) I can get one that will fit an electric start PX then?
And anyone need this one? Yours for nowt.

Picked one up that fits perfectly and is a little Bobby Dazzler at the IoW parts fair (that place is deadly, could have spent a fortune). I think the other one I have might be for a T5 so again, if anyone wants it for nowt then give me a shout. So, I also got the whole gear selector box to match in chrome like the bloody magpie I am How easy (or not) is it to swap this out?

Well done Devo. Anyone else think the parts fair was rather Lammy based? was on lookout for a sito plus for px125; only one second hand with a tiny pin hole in it. needless to say my money stayed in my wallet. bought two nice vespa tshirts for my kiddywinks tho.
