As PX's can be prone to underside and under wheel hood rusting. Has anyone treated their machine with any particular product that they would recommend as I would like to keep mine in as good nick as is poss Also is anyone aware of any other issues that can be ironed out with a little preventative maintenance.......... Cheers Ian

hi there I used "tite seal under coating" which is some kind of tar spray that should seal the metal from water and prevent rust formation.
I sprayed a few coats of this stuff on my vespa inner frame (removed the fuel tank and sprayed from bottom to top, including the rear shock area. Sprayed the inner front fender and the rear of the body (where the engine is) and the two side panels. I didn't spray on the bottom floorboard though... ill do it some day i guess.. but until then I occasionally spray it with motorcycle chain lube, very sticky and should water proof the metal.
until now i dont see any rust forming, besides a small spot in the upper front fender , in the middle (where the two fender halves connect)
if you do spray the undercoat, the surface must be clean for the tar to stick well . Before i applied it, I cleaned the areas (especially the joints areas) with a brush soap and water. i then used an air compressor to dry it
For other areas I can't reach, like the little gap between the floor board and the body , I just use a WD40 spray. the same goes for rivet holes - I spray them too and wipe. Other spots as well.

Although why they use the outline of a Porsche on the can is beyond me, anyone who has, or has had, one knows they're galvanised.

yes thats the one for me it all started as an attempt to reduce the humming subbufer-like noise, thought to be coming from the air-box . turned out one tiny crack in the exhaust made all that noise anyway, it was a rust treatment too, along the way, so it was worth the fuss
