Hi all you budding scooterist's this is still a problem on my t5 classic . since changing my plug and exhaust i have found my be co-insidental that when hot my t5 classic only in neutral and if i realy rev it the throttle seams to stick and wont turn off at the key, the only way to stop it seems to be slappping it in gear its not the oil seal checked that bought the plug from ebay would that make a differance? or could it be the simonini pipe ( lacking baffle's) this is propper doing my head in one of you must have an idea oh and its not just a sticky cable pleaseeeeeeeeee help me

Hi When you say the throttle is sticking do you mean that actual cable or at the carb as they are two very different problems. When you turn the ignition off you should loose the spark from the plug so hence the engine should stop, but if you have the wrong plug and its getting hot along with a sticking throttle you could be suffering from what is called pinking in car terms.ie the plug or deposites on the pistion are reigniting the fuel left in the pot.Check the plug and sort the throttle ie new cable or clean the carb if no luck wip the head of and check state of piston top for a large amount of carbon on it ,

could it be the slide in the carb i think its slightly grooved

I dont want to scare you mate, but i had the same problem with my p200e, it was the throttle slide, and guess what: the carb body was deformed and the rails on which the slide is moving were curved. If that is the problem you can trim the slide a little with a sand paper.
