Hi,
Been tring to get my mates vespa 50 going for ages (siezed so replaced with bog bore kit), just replaced the clutch as it was slipping.
Anyway, i got it going once before but it kept cutting out after a while (suspect sh*t in tank/filter/carb). note while investigating i noticed i had fitted the gasket to the air filter the wrong way around blocking off most of the air correction holes. Bike has not started since i turned it the correct way around!
Tried to get it going again today with not much sucess.
Changed the fuel for new and total strip of carb.
Still no luck. Have set the slow running adjuster screw 2.5 turns out but have now idea how much to adjust the throttle slide set screw.
Have tried a few times to get it started but just a very wet spark plug (good spark)
Is carb ok for 110cc (std shb16/10 std jets)? Help!!!
Thanks
Dave

sfs.alexander-hepp.de/standard 50 special carb and jets is too small, but you should get it going if there's a spark, see link above for some indication as to other carb setups used for 110's

B7 will run cooler, so thats the one I'd opt for. So you have air screw out by 2.5 turns. Is it running points ? have you moved the stator plate ? Isfuel getting through? have you tried getting any notification of fuel getting through and firing whatsoever? can you lend another carb to try out?

Right just spent a few hours and sad to say still not playing!
Tried all i can think.
Checked the sparkplug against the head and spark present gap .6mm
plenty of fuel getting through as the spark plug is wet after every attempt.
tried with and without choke(starter), heating spark plug and even cylinder but no luck
only think i can think is too much fuel as the plug gets very wet.
can anyone confirm that the slow running adjuster screw should be 2.5 turns out.
what sort of setting is the throttle slide set screw set too? should the slide be fully closed, just a crack or more?
Thanks
Dave
