Hello, welcome to our forum.
;D Yes, I'm afraid the madness goes without saying. Nice colour of scoot, I like the black PXs. Good luck with the CBT too. Just make sure you ask loads of questions if you have any while you've got the chance. I'm assuming you're doing the CBT on the scooter?

Hi Roger. Like you I bought a brand new PX125 and had it delivered to the bike academy on the day of my CBT, with the sum total of a couple of autos on Greek holidays as my previous experience.
I coped fine, largely because my instructor was good and once he'd given instructions to the auto users, he gave me separate guidance. I passed no problems, then rode home from Romford to just south of Braintree using all the country lanes. It took me hours and I was like a block of ice by the time I got back. That was over five years ago and I've had no trouble since.
It's certainly a gamble, but as long as you have the aptitude for riding a geared scooter you should be okay. Having said that, there was a woman in my CBT group that was so bad at riding an auto that she got told not to come back after lunch.
Good luck.
;D

Hi, welcome aboard.
Yes, I felt pretty much the same thing about 18 months ago ;D I'd never been near a scooter before the day of my CBT. The dealers delivered my brand new black PX straight to the test centre.
Was quite daunting trying to get used to the controls and follow the instructions at the same time, can't say I enjoyed it all that much. Would have found the actual CBT a breeze if I'd of known what I was doing on the bike. I guess you just need to be extra cautious at first until you get the controls nailed (which is pretty quickly though I still had a week or 2 of awkward gear changes before I got the knack for it fully) and build up your confidence.
On a side note, does the new black PX still have a tan coloured seat?

Hi,
I did my CBT 3 months ago having never ridden a scooter of any description before. The week before my mate rode me down to a local deserted car park and I just spent an hour going round getting used to the feel of the scooter and changing gears.
At least then I wasnt totally new and the result being I passed no problem. Providing you already drive a car and know the rules of the road that will be a big help.
Good luck!
