[/img]]Hi all, New to the forum today, I have been living in Turkey for the last 5 years and have at last tracked down a 1962 vespa for sale in Istanbul (12 hours drive away from me) I believe that its a VBB? (if not someone please correct me) Have been told by the seller that it requires some cosmetic work (REALLY ) and that the it needs a new stand which is gonna set me back around 40 quid over here. Other than that it runs well with no probs, can anyone give me any pointers about what to look for and what to stay clear of. because of the distance and commitments i am doing all the purchasing through a third party vespa reseller and restorer in Istanbul. Thanks for you help in advance Lee

Hi Lee, welcome to the forum. Any photos would be helpful to our readers - and maybe anyone would like to PM Lee about price etc?

Thanks for that Lucia, after much debating and emails back and forth i have decided that i will let the company in Istanbul refurb the bike for me then kargo it down here, after asking around here i didnt have much faith that i could get parts or knowledgeable help from the garages here. So its off to Istanbul next week to do the paper work then they will start the restoration for me. Will keep you updated

Hi and welcome to the forum , just looking at the pics, the front mudguard looks more like a VBA than a VBB.. Does it have 4 gears or 3? VBA's had 3. Have you done a check on the frame and engine numbers if not do it here www.scooterhelp.com
