Hi h he is giving me back all the bits replaced so make take some time to tart up and either sell on or use on a project if I can't find a semi decent scoot for the boy. Will be widening the search soon as I am getting my old mans van the end of next month so will have a look around Watford and surrounding areas whilst down there picking it up.

i do hope so H although saying that the cost of the respray on my PX is beginning to spiral out of control and various parts are having to be replaced after the shot blasting as thrown up a few dodgy components and now there is no paint on it there is no going back!!!!!

Hi Gaz if i had the room i would look at a project for sure but the wife seems to think that using the conservatory as a workshop is unreasonable!! should i divorce her??? we are looking at a couple of scoots this weekend around 900 - 1000 so will see what that throws up!! h i showed him the cosa and he quite liked it so that has now been thrown into the mix, i am also now looking for one as an everyday hack. See what you have started, at this rate i think the wife will be divorcing me!!!

I have convinced the boy to keep his options open regarding scooter although he did spend the night in the shed when he piped up with " what about this Peugeot scooter Dad!!!" think he has learnt his lesson. a cheap PX will be what he is really after Gaz but like Henry says the price for these has gone up rather than down this winter and we have looked at a couple for around £900 advertised as good condition/runner one of which was a good runner that the owner coudn't even get started, the other had more holes than a swiss cheese!!! The search continues!!

Cheers Guys, he is a 19yr old that wants everything now unfortunately that is the new generation. he saw a nice looking scoot on website in India and that is the one he wants. i will do my best to change his mind as the fact is i have control of his savings!!! have looked locally and around 50 -75 miles from home (Gateshead) but there seems to be a lot of OK scoots around for sale but are a bit over priced. He will have to be patient and just watch me riding up and now the street waving too him on my new look PX.

Cheers Kru think one of the lads has a spare 21 tooth clutch will slap that in a give it a go first I think. Will defo get a rev counter first as that will give a good indication where to start.

Is there a way of telling what revs I am doing without a rev counter or can you fit a speedo with rev counter to a non battery PX.

Hi guys, one of the lads in our scooter club recommended the 22 tooth which he has on his stock t5 which is an absolute flying machine. Will do some more research and let you all know my findings. Running mine on standard carb and 112 main jet!!

Hi chaps happy new year to all. Just wondering what I would gain from changing my 20 tooth clutch to a new cosa 22 tooth clutch. I am running scoot on a dr180 kit with Sito plus exhaust.

Hi Sime,
i have not so long ago had a DR180 kit fitted with a Sito plus exhaust as i also required a bit more pork pulling power on the hills. i have not had this case matched as yet or changed the gearing and still using a standard 20 carb but the difference in power even tho still running in it is quite amazing. had this fitted with all parts for around 260 quid so with you doing the works yourself i believe it will definitely be worth a shot.

charging from the AC set up is that a complicated job or just time consuming? What are the best bulbs for low power consumption LED i would guess?

This may have already been discussed but is it easy enough to add an extra spotlight to a non battery PX or will this put too much strain on the electrics?

Well new DR180 fitted with Sito plus exhaust main Jet at 112. told to check the plug after 100 miles for blackening or white deposits and change jets up or down as required. 30 miles of the run in completed and i do believe i have noticed a bit of a torque difference already. lets hope i get the desired result out of it once it is run in. will keep all posted if interested if i need to change the set up at all.

Ha Ha Ha thanks for the pep talk Gaz will take it on board and stop being a lightweight. Spoken to my chosen scooter man and DR kit is the chosen one now just need to finalise any other bits needed exhaust, carb etc etc. should be done by the end of the month hopefully.
