I had nowt to gauge it against so the lack of escort didn't bother me, when I do one properly policed I'll probably notice the difference in quality.
Though, if it is deemed an illegal gathering, why were there 2 police directing traffic for it at the exit onto the main road at the start?

Every year the motorcycle traffic police used to give up their rest days to escort this Egg Run, and it went like clockwork. They used to fly down the outside of the scooters, leapfrogging each other to block off the junctions. Everyone kept moving and it was over much quicker.
Then for some reason some brain of Britain at police HQ decided they couldn't do that any more and last year they had some numpty b*ll*cks letting scooters out 20 or 30 at a time so cars got in between and the whole thing was a stop-start chaos.
The hospital's closing down anyway so this was the last Ginger's Egg Run of this type. Hopefully something else will be on next year.

Forgot to mention that I was riding for a time beside a young lad on a lovely cream 150 Super. He was wearing a parka, a p*ss pot helmet and aviators and looked very cool indeed.

Also spotted, Lucia at the top of an embankment staring at a camera with a look of bemusement on her face. I think I was chuckling about this big fella, he was fidgeting like mad...

I'm not surprised he was fidgeting, he was clearly dying to do a sh*t but couldn't because you were pointing a camera at him.

That's Tom from the Manchester Lyons. Nice scoot isn't it! Only cost him £650 last year as it wasn't running when he got it. Probably worth 3 times that now. Canny make the Wirral one Retro, City at home to Spurs .... joy.
